Special Awards to be conferred on deserving Abia indigenes as state Bloggers hold AGM

Abia Online Media Publishers Organisation, member of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) has announced Saturday January 14, 2023, as her Annual General Meeting cum special Award conferments day.

A statement issued to newsmen in Umuahia, jointly signed by the Chairman, Chief Paddy Anyatonwu and the Secretary, Steve Unegbu, states that the event which will be held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia will be graced by the creme de la creme in Abia state under the Chairmanship of Hon. Chinenye Nwaogu.

Part of the events on that day include a lecture on “the importance of blogging as a tool for quick information dissemination” will come up between 11am and 1pm. From 1pm to 3 pm will be time for special award conferment(s), while the Annual General Meeting begins from 3 pm.

According to the statement, the following personalities will be conferred with special Awards, the Deputy governor, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko-Chukwu, Best Deputy governor award, the wife of Abia state Governor Her Excellency, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu – Humanitarian Service Award, the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District and former Governor of Abia state,
His Excellency Senator Theodore Ahamefule Orji – Lifetime Achievement Award and Lawmaker of 2022 award.

Others include: Pastor Emeka Inyama – Sports Administrator Award, Prince Emeka Elias Ihedioha – Philanthropist Award, the immediate past executive chairman of Umunneochi LGA
Chief Ifeanyi Madu -Best LGA chairman Award,
Elder Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr – Public Service Award.

The Statement invites Ndi Abia, the Academia, the Nigerian Union of Journalists(NUJ), Abia State Chapter, Traditional Rulers, Students, government officials and all the members of OMPAN as well as intending members to participate actively as it promises to be educative and informative.
