Awardees hail Abia OMPAN as it holds AGM

The 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Abia Online Media Publishers Organisation was all shades of fun for members and guests.
The AGM which took place at the Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia had three segments attracted dignitaries from all walks of life.
The AGM was shifted to January 14,2023 owing to the series of political engagements of the identified awardees in December 2022,
The first part was a lecture delivered by Chief Chibuike Onyendilefu on “Online Media/blogging in the 21st century: matters arising.”
He observed that “online Media/blogging has greatly increased citizens participation in socio- political matters thereby giving the ordinary man a voice never would have had under the traditional media.”
The second part which formed the high point of the AGM was the presentation of the awards to deserving Abia state sons and daughters who have excelled in their various fields.
Chief Theodore Orji got awards for Lifetime Achievement as well as Best Lawmaker of 2022.
Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko-Chukwu was awarded The Best Abia Deputy governor.
Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu received Humanitarian service award.
Pastor Emeka Inyama was recognised as the Sports Administrator of the decade.
Chie Ifeanyi Madu was presented with Best LG chairman.
Prince Emeka Ihedioha on his part got an award for Philanthropy.
Finally, Elder Uchenna Erondu jnr was given an award for Best public servant 2022.
Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Chinenye Nwaogu commended Abia OMPAN for discharging its duties creditably.
He applauded the leadership for organising and hosting the AGM and advised that did their jobs well so as not to misinform the public on any issue .
The award ceremony was well attended by awardees and their supporters who added colour to the event.
