ABIA LG LEADERSHIP: GOV. OTTI INAUGURATES NEW MAYORS, TASKS THEM ON SERVICE DELIVERY.

Governor Alex Otti of Abia state on monday inaugurated the newly elected chairmen (Mayors) of the 17 Local Government Areas of and their deputies .

The event which took place at the banquet hall of the government house had the wife of the governor Mrs. Priscilla Otti and several other dignitaries in attendance.

Governor Otti during the ceremony encouraged them to always interface with the masses and carry them along in their programmes and activities.

He said they should also reach out to their opponents in the just concluded election but cautioned them against taking advice from those who have pecuniary desires to disrupt their agenda.

The governor promised to assist whenever the need arises while reminding them to own whatever decision and action they make and take as they will be held accountable by the people.

The mayor of Isuikwuato LGA, Mr. Chinedu Ekeke in his vote of thanks on behalf of the other mayors and deputies promised to deliver even better than is expected.

He said though they will learn new ropes, it will be at a fast pace

Some citizens like member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South federal constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe said the chairmen now have everything to work with and succeed.

He said he is confident that the mayors will do well given the calibre of persons chosen.

Also in an interview , mayor of Bende LGA, Basil Uwabunkonye said he will focus on education and agriculture in his domain as a way of liberating his people from unemployment and poverty.

All the mayors and deputies also signed their oaths subsequently.
