Road construction flag off: Asa development union appreciates gov. Otti

The national executive of Asa development union has expressed its profound gratitude to governor Alex Otti over the flag off reconstruction of the over 11km Obehie-Umudobia-Owaza road on Tuesday.

In a press statement of appreciation by the executive, it recalled that “on Tuesday, the 11th day of March 2025 at the playground of St Anne’s Secondary School Obehie Asa, the people of Asa and other Abians trooped out in their numbers to welcome the executive governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, who visited Asaland to flag off the11km Obehie-Umudobia-Owaza road on Tuesday awarded by his administration.”

It further noted that the event attracted the presence of personalities across the length and breadth of Asa, Ukwa West LGA and across political party divides, including; traditional rulers led by the chairman of Ukwa West traditional rulers’ council, HRM Eze Chinyere Augustine Eletuo Dike, political and religious leaders, stakeholders, women, youths, students and workers from Ukwa West Local Government council among many others numerous to mention.

The President General of Asa Development Union, Elder Goodluck Nwanneakolam Nwuju in his Goodwill Message thanked the Governor for awarding the contract for the reconstruction of the road and for many other developmental projects/programmes his administration has bequeathed to Nde Asa since his assumption of office

He assured him of the people’s continued support and solidarity.

The President General also used the opportunity to solicit the following from the governor; the Degazetting of the revoked Enyimba Economic City Lands to enable their owners assess to them for farming and other purposes, upgrading of Ukwa General Hospital Okeikpe and Cottage Hospital Owaza to referral centres and equipping them adequately with medical personnel and necessary equipment, construction of Umuezeke-Obokwe-Ngwaiyiekwe road, intervention in the crisis in Obiakpu Community.
