Speaking during his visit to the governor in his office on Wednesday, February 18th, which coincided with the governor’s birthday, Prof. Osinbajo expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s hospitality and outstanding performance in office.
He noted that the true essence of public service was making meaningful differences on the lives of the people.

” In the short time I have been here, I have seen tangible evidence of progress,”former Vice President stated.

He also lauded the extensive road infrastructure renewal and improved connectivity across the State, describing the projects as visible symbols of purposeful and results-driven leadership.
While reflecting on the demands of leadership, Prof. Osinbajo noted that while many aspire for public office, true distinction lies in delivery.
“Sometimes you wonder whether, after all the efforts to get into office, leaders are able to fulfill their promises. But in your case, you have done not just what you promised, but even more. You have made public service worthwhile,” Prof. Osinbajo added.

The former Vice President prayed for renewed strength, wisdom, and divine favour for Governor Otti as he continues the work of transformation in Abia State.

The Governor said that firm intervention restored order and ensured that communities once inaccessible are now safe and open to residents.Governor Otti also commended security agencies for their round-the-clock dedication, acknowledging their sacrifices in maintaining peace and stability across the state.“We are grateful to the men and women who stay awake so that our people can sleep in peace,” Gov Otti stated.

2027- City Boy Movement in Abia adopts President Tinubu as sole candidate, unveils youth empowerment structure
By Editor, Umuahia

The Abia State Chapter of the City Boy Movement has officially adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The group also declared that the state must remain strategically aligned with the center for national decision-making.
The City Boy Movement passed a resolution which was adopted during the Movement’s inaugural Town Hall gathering in Umuahia.
The meeting had in attendance leaders, grassroots coordinators, youth representatives, women leaders, and stakeholders from all 17 local government areas of the state.
The event was led by the Movement’s Patron, Chinedum Orji, and the state director, Lucky Igbokwe.

In his keynote address, Mayor Igbokwe described the affirmation as a strategic decision anchored on continuity, stability, and regional inclusion.
According to him, the Movement’s endorsement is not driven by emotion but by structure and long-term positioning.“Development does not come from noise; it comes from participation. If we desire federal inclusion, infrastructure, and youth empowerment, we must organize from the grassroots and speak with one voice,” he stated.
He urged members to make their support visible and coordinated, stressing that political opportunity responds to structure, not silence.
The immediate past speaker of the Abia Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Chinedum Orji said there was need for disciplined engagement and peaceful mobilization, saying that Abia’s developmental aspirations required unity and strategic alignment.

“Our people deserve infrastructure, jobs, and opportunity and that demands political solutions, not confrontation,” he said.
He linked youth empowerment directly to long-term peace and prosperity, warning that failure to invest in young people would undermine the future of the state.
A major highlight of the gathering was the unveiling of a structured youth mobilization and Federal access framework designed to create measurable pathways for young people across Abia State.
Key components of the initiative include: • Compilation of qualified youth nominees across wards and LGAs for federal agency consideration • Expansion of scholarship access and structured skills acquisition programs.
•A coordinated ward-to-state engagement structure.
• Peaceful grassroots mobilization centered on empowermentMayor Igbokwe described youth empowerment as the central pillar of the Movement’s 2027 political and development agenda, insisting that empowerment must move from rhetoric to institutional structure.
The Movement adopted a grassroots-first strategy, directing coordinators to strengthen ward and LGA structures in preparation for the 2027 elections.Plans were also announced for active participation in the National Convention scheduled for May 13, 2026, in Owerri, where state chapters are expected to demonstrate organizational capacity.
In his vote of thanks, Hon. Ogbonna Ukuku, speaking on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, reiterated that support for the President remains unequivocal and collective.
