The entire organs of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) in Abia state has passed a vote of confidence on the guberntorial candidate of the party Prof Gregory Ibe and his deputy Hon Obinna Ichita, the Rev. Augustine Ehiemere led State Working Committee and the league of candidates for federal and state legislative elections.

Arising from a crucial meeting that had in attendance members of the party’s National Working Committee led by the National Deputy Chairman, Chief Uchenna Okogbuo, the State Working Committee, the 17 LGA chairmen and all candidates of the party, as well as all factions, the entire structures of APGA in the state resolved to bury all disagreements and work together as one united family under the leadership of Rev Ehiemere.

The party which had been enmeshed in some internal crisis created after its guberntorial primary elections has finally set it’s eye on the ball as 2023 beckons.

The aim is to achieve all round electoral success in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

According to the APGA National Deputy Chairman, Chief Okogbuo, the important position Abia occupies in the scheme of things necessitated the intervention of the national headquarters in the crises that hitherto confronted the party in the state, thereby compelling a peace move.

Having thus resolved all contentious issues within the SWC, he advised members of the party to take the peaceful and progressive message of ‘onye aghala nwanneya’ home to their respective communities as a way of enlarging the APGA family and reinforcing the popularity of the party at the grassroots.

He emphasised that all politics is local.

In his address at the meeting, the APGA guber candidate, Prof Ibe appreciated Chief Okogbuo for facilitating the unification of factions within the SWC and subsequently enjoined members to love one another while committing themselves to strengthening and building the party for electoral victory in 2023.

In a goodwill message, the state chairman Rev Ehiemere thanked all organs of the party for the vote of confidence and pledged to carry everyone along in their purposeful march to resounding victory at the polls, stressing that ” with God on our side nothing can stop us now from sacking PDP and leading the people to the shores of a brand new Abia.”

CSUNews reports that the meeting which took place at the campaign headquarters of Prof Gregory Ibe in Umuahia was attended by the deputy governorship candidate, Hon Obinna Ichita and a full compliment of the 19 member State Working Committee.

“For us, the most important part of governance is security. If security fails, every other thing fails, so we attach top priority to issues around security, that is why we’re excited to have you here to give us all the support that you can and you too can learn from us,” he said.
