Woman narrates how her daughter fell victim to serial killer
By Editor
Following the arrest of one Salem, a plumber (aka) “pastor” by the Department of State Services in Umuahia penultimate week, a woman, Mrs Clementina Nwoke has come out to say how the same man snuffed life out of her daughter.
She had sought justice for her daughter since August,2021 when she was kidnapped, and her body later discovered somewhere in Ehime Mbano with all her vital organs harvested.
Although the suspect then Salem who claimed to be a pastor was apprehended by the police, he was never charged to court and before long he was released.
His release gave room to the connection he had with his latest victim, late Mrs. Virginia Ndife in September this same year in the same city.
According to Mrs. Nwoke, Salem was seen as a young pastor in their church in Awolowo street Umuahia and was counseling her daughter who had just recently returned to the church after years of leaving.
She was a young lady who had a child aged 8 out of wedlock and since relocated to Owerri Imo state with her child. Her brother however got concerned that his sister no longer worshipped in the same church, The Apostolic church with the family having joined Winners chapel and went to speak with the senior pastor on the issue.to accept her back if she returned.
The pastor obliged the sibling and urged her to participate in the church’s ongoing”Solution Hour”. The day she was coming for the program, she called the pastor who then said he was not around but told her to go on and attend as there would be younger pastors to attend to her.
Mrs. Nwoke said it was for that reason that Chioma her daughter paid attention to “pastor Salem”. He kept following up on her through calls until the day he went to Owerri and took the girl from her apartment as her pastor to the knowledge of her neighbours. He was said to have come back to the house the following day with the keys to collect some of her belongings.
That however became the last time she was seen by her family alive as she did not return after days and neighbours alerted the police. Her hostage taker began making demands for ransom of 15 million naira with her family not knowing that it was someone they knew that had her until he was arrested by the police. Her daughter’s remains were found in Ehime Mbano by the police already decaying while most of her internal body organs had been removed.
The police and The Apostolic church on 55 Awolowo street Umuahia aided in the burial of Chioma in their country home in Avutu Obowo, Imo state.
Recall that the same Salem allegedly killed a girl in Mbom Ibeku, Umuahia North LGA in February this year.
So far he has three deaths hanging over his head but hopefully there will be no more caused by him if justice is duly served.
