PRIMARY, SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ABIA GET PROF. GREG IBE’S EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

In a sustained effort to change the narrative of most schools in Abia state with various challenges, prof. Greg I’ve has favoured another secondary school.
He recently donated well over 1000 (one thousand) copies of reading materials and multiple digital Computer sets to Abia State University Secondary school also known as International Secondary school Uturu .
Prof. Ibe has an ongoing program tagged “Equip Abia Primary and Secondary schools programme” , which has assisted a lot of schools in the state in the provision and donation of learning materials.
Presenting the materials to the school’s management, prof. Ibe restated his resolve to help salvage basic education in the state.
The chancellor who was represented by Comrade Christian Ofondu, said he was eager to make primary and secondary schools in the state have necessary learning materials.
He said he is interested in providing a solid foundation for the children to enable them excel at the level of tertiary education.
He said the “Equip Abia secondary and primary school program” has so far supported 800 schools in the state.
The exercise which is extended to private schools as well has also seen the team provide learning incentives for some like Danijoy school.
The Chancellor made it known that the program was an old one which began during the reign of Theodore Orji as governor, adding that he had no preference for any Abia State Primary or Secondary School for this exercise but is determined to reach as many schools as possible in Abia State.
On the Abia university secondary school, Prof Greg Ibe disclosed that his special interest for the firstschool Uturu is not only because it is situated in his home town but the fact he was one of those who built Abia State University in the 1980s and also taught there before establishing Gregory University Uturu.
He equally assured the School full partnership especially in areas of their needs and directed his ICT team of Engineers to immediately move in to repair the school ICT department, even as he promised to solve its problems of perennial power supply by the end of year 2021.
In her response, on behalf of the management, Staff and students of Abia State University Secondary school; the Principal Dr Mrs Ijeoma Victoria Ike-Inegbu, thanked the Chancellor and proprietor of Gregory University Uturu; Prof Greg Ibe for always considering the school, number one in the list of beneficiaries of his donations of education materials especially in Abia State. She also recalled that Prof Greg Ibe had earlier donated science and Laboratory equipment to them and now has donated over 1000 reading materials and digital computer sets to the school. She commended him for occasioning the repairs of the school ICT center and thanked him for his promise to restore light in the entire Uturu community in no distant time which will benefit everyone .
She described Prof Greg Ibe as a divine gift from God almighty not only to Isuikwuato but to Abia State in particular and Nigeria in general.
