ABIA CITIZENS RECEIVE XMAS PACKAGE FROM PROF. GREG IBE

The Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe has advocated for true show of love to one another irrespective of race or religion this Christmas.

He enjoined Christians to extend love to others as a mark of the celebration.

He have this charge at the flag off of the 2021 edition of his Christmas gifts largesse to the citiyof the state

He spoke through the Director General of Abia Crusaders Foundation, Prince Emeka Okafor, who said that love is the real reason for the yuletide season.

He also challenged Abians to emulate God’s example, who according to him, “Sent our Lord Jesus Christ to the world on Christmas day because of the love he has for us.”

Prof. Ibe urged Abians to “imitate and replicate the divine example of God by extending gifts of love especially to the less privileged during the Christmas season.”

He announced the release of a total of 3,277 bags of rice packaged in 10,25 and 50 kg sizes, meant for distribution as Christmas gifts to the 292 electoral wards in the 17 Local government Councils of the state.

These items are to be distributed by two teams which will share and also ensure that they get to the citizens.

Arochukwu Local Government Area was the first to receive its share as the people could not help but express gratitude and joy for the benevolence of prof. Ibe.

This latest magnanimity is the climax of the series of philanthropic gestures the chancellor embarked upon this year.

Prof Ibe had earlier in the year undertaken many charity projects, including, award of scholarship to 130 Abians for strategic undergraduate studies in Gregory University Uturu, free medical outreaches in targeted rural communities and distribution of text books to public and private school in the state.
