YULETIDE: Abia police command parades crime suspects, assures of adequate security.

No fewer than 20 suspects were on Friday paraded before the media by the Abia police command over their involvement in various crimes.
Of note are two cousins aged 19, who were arrested for armed robbery.
Both, during interview confirmed they stole a bag of Hoodies (clothing) from a man on Ossah road in Umuahia at gun point.
While one has already completed his secondary school education, the other is an SS3 student in one of the popular schools in Umuahia.
Others according to the police public relations officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka were arrested for car theft, tricycle theft, kidnapping, etc.
She announced that the command made significant breakthroughs from October to date and would continue to serve the public.
In her brief to journalists, she disclosed that the command recovered some 9 stolen tricycles, 10 vehicles, rifles and rescued an abducted child.
On his part, the Commissioner of police, Kene Onwuemelie enjoined the public to assist in checking the menace of crimes by ensuring they are properly addressed as what they truly are.
He regrets that the positive names given to crimes might have made offenders believe they are good.
The commissioner also called on all to report policemen who are seen in unprofessional conducts to enable the command sanction them and also bring to their notice any officer diligently working for proper reward.
