Stephanie Clems, Umuahia
In what seems like a much anticipated move, the immediate past speaker of Abia state House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Chinedum Orji has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic party.
His formal resignation is contained in a letter addressed to the ward chairman of his former party
He thanked the party for providing the platform with which he emerged the speaker of the House of Assembly.
Hon. Orji who did not however state his next political move, recently told bloggers that “when the time for politicking comes, I Chinedum Orji will play it.”
Some other party stakeholders and members as well as loyalists of the speaker such as the former administrative head of the party in the state, Mr. Uzodinma Ugele, running materials to the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in the last election, Dr. Jasper Uche Prince Emeka Elias and a host of others have equally resigned from the PDP.
There are unconfirmed comments that he (Orji)will likely declare for the All progressives Congress in the coming days alongside his teeming supporters
