ANAMBRA INSECURITY: POLICE-LED SECURITY FORCE DISLODGE CRIMINAL CAMP IN OGBUNKA

The Police-led Joint security team comprising the Army, from the 302 Artillery Regiment (GS), Navy from the Naval Command, Department of State Security, Anambra State Vigilante has dislodged a criminal hideout in Ogbunka.
The team acted on information received over time from residents concerning the activities of these hoodlums in Ogbunka.
A press statement by the police public relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga stated that the Joint security team had a six (6) hours gun battle with the armed criminals but the later was subdued due to the security agent’s superior firepower.
In the course of the exchange, some of the criminals escaped with various degrees of bullet injuries inflicted on them.
According to the statement, the team diffused some explosives used as shields on the camp by the hoodlums.
The team also recovered some relief materials like pots, foodstuffs and parts of dismembered suspected stolen vehicles.
The Operatives have taken over the area to sustain security dominance aimed at addressing any untoward situation that may arise and to possibly arrest the fleeing suspects.
The Anambra State Police Command has assured on behalf of other security agencies that the confidence reposed on her by the people of Anambra (Ndi Anambra) and residents alike for the protection of lives and properties would not be taken for granted.
